I wanted to try and clear up some misconceptions. Recently, some people have expressed concerns to me that arbitrary Chatlands chat site owners have a way to see your personal information without your consent. This is not true.
When you join a Chatlands site for the first time, you are presented with a page warning you that your information will become available to the admins on the site (see image below). This is done for site security, in order to prevent trolls and other abuse of Chatlands members.
But only those sites where you have given your explicit permission have access to your internet IP address and email address. Admins on all other Chatlands sites can't see it.
